Jim's second album release, produced by George Hairr, has been met with critical acclaim musically, and obvious annointing spiritually. The Inspirational meets AC album mixes sounds of Chris Rice, MercyMe, and Chris Tomlin to create a well received sound all his own.

Reinventing the beloved Twila Paris hit "How Beautiful" with a fanfare of guitar, strings, and energy, in late 2007 helped propel Jim into the top 10 before releasing the stirring Inspirational Hit "Start All Over" in January of 2008. Start All Over, a song based on the poem by Dr. Woodrow Kroll of Back to the Bible brought huge and instant attention to Jim's ministry and his new album as well. Followin g the success of “Start All Over” came the release of “Everything Changes” the title track of the album and a song penned by Jim. “Everything Changes” crept its way up the charts into the top 15 earlier this fall.

Jim was called into the ministry in a very unlikely way. Members of the Southern Gospel mega group The Martins, talked Jim into recording a small "starter project" that jokingly Murphy likes to pretend never existed. But what The Martins saw initially, has progressed and developed into an emerging force in Christian Music. Backed by Mission House Music, a quickly expanding label, Murphy has seen a lot of positive press and publicity.

Most recently, Jim has been taking time, between touring, to write new songs for his upcoming album. 2010 promises to be another exciting year as he embarks on yet another long tour with label mate Alex Edmonds that will take them all over the country sharing their ministry. Jim admits, "When God blesses you with unexplainable success, it isn't right to stand still and just let it happen. You must take the tools He gives you, and actively help to advance his Kingdom.
